Coenzyme Q10 is the key molecule for mitochondrial energy production. From the age of 40, the body's own CoQ10 levels drop dramatically – with direct effects on energy, heart function, and cell protection. 200 mg per capsule for maximum effect.

Benefits: Supports mitochondrial function and cellular energy · Promotes cardiovascular health · Strong antioxidant protection · High dose for clinical efficacy

Shipping from Germany · No added sugar ✓ · GMO-free ✓ · Allergen information ⚠️: Soy · Contains: Beef (capsule gelatin) · Halal-compliant · FSSC 22000 certified

Scientific Background – Based on publicly available research literature. Intended for general information only and does not replace medical advice.

  • Function: Coenzyme Q10 (ubiquinone) is a fat-soluble benzoquinone derivative that acts as an electron carrier between Complex I/II and Complex III in the mitochondrial respiratory chain – essential for ATP production in every body cell.
  • Age-related decline: Studies show that endogenous CoQ10 levels decrease from the age of 40 and can be reduced by up to 50% by the age of 80 (Kalén et al., Lipids, 1989).
  • Statin interaction: Statins inhibit endogenous CoQ10 synthesis via the same mevalonate pathway through which they lower cholesterol – a known pharmacological off-target effect.
  • Q-SYMBIO study: This randomized study (Mortensen et al., JACC Heart Failure, 2014) showed a significant reduction in mortality and cardiovascular events in chronic heart failure with 300 mg CoQ10/day over 2 years.
  • Ubiquinone vs. Ubiquinol: The ubiquinone (oxidized form) contained here is reduced to ubiquinol (active form) in the body. In younger, healthy individuals, this conversion works well; older or sick individuals may benefit from ubiquinol supplements.
  • Dosage 200 mg: Clinical studies typically use 100–300 mg/day; 200 mg corresponds to a well-documented therapeutic range.
  • EFSA status: There are currently no EFSA-approved health claims for CoQ10.
